I am starting 23 Things to gain a better understanding of how to use technology to enhance the learning in my classroom. I hope to learn many avenues for making this happen in my classroom. I am hopeful that my students will be interested in what I provide them. I know that how we educate students is beginning to shift to having a greater emphasis on using technology more often. It makes sense to incorporate how these students live outside of the classroom (lots of technology) with how we are expecting them to live (and learn) in the classroom.
I think that writing on the Internet for everyone to read is a fun way to encourage discussion that may not otherwise take place.
As they say, the world is becoming a smaller place. The walls between school and home are diminishing and students and parents have greater access to what is going on in the classroom. Technology will help us embrace this concept and bring a learning environment that the kids already have a great understanding in how it works. As you go through these 23 things, see how you can adopt the tools to use, not only in the classroom, but in your personal life. As we become comfortable with these tools, they will be a natural extension of how we teach and how the students view us.
